Cliffhanger! Love this series it just keeps getting better. But really how long do I have to wait for book 3?! By the end of the first sentence the pages just disappear. Thank you for some excellent writing!
Gave first 3 stars and liked this one a little more. Similes and metaphors are still abundant as is the description of the weather and training with Gabriel. Started off great! Loved the new kick a** side of Jemma, but she's so wishy washy. Maybe it can be chalked up to her age or everything she has thrown at her, but she has two weeks to get Engel what he wants, yet she seems to forget Taylor completely at times. Mainly when she's with Trace. I don't know if he loves her because he knew he would in the future or why she acts so nonchalant with their connection/his love other than knowing they'll have a stronger one in the future. She is kept in the dark about many things related to her slayer side and it's frustrating she didn't make someone tell her everything all at once. And they almost had sex without even going on a date and only called him "boyfriend" once. I'm not a fan of Tessa, Gabriel's okay, Nikki's still a b, and Dominic is still my favorite.
Seriously when will Jemma learn to ask for help. She is forever going off on her own and no one knows where she is which is so frustrating . If I had a big bad vampire after me I would have acted so differently. She is continually reckless and steamrolling her way over everyone's feelings. Trace is the long suffering boyfriend who loves despite how she is always keeping secrets and going out with other guys, Dominic the typical bad boy with a good heart (only for Jemma)and Nikki the bitch witch who we all love to hate. Dominic reminds of Damon out of Vampire Diaries only less interesting. There is no character development here as she repeats the same mistakes over and over again. This book had potential but Jemma made it far too easy for her enemies to find her. The big secret was revealed and I did have an inkling about what it was but I didn't anticipate the way the story ended. Hopefully the characters will show some depth in the third book as they are stuck being one dimensional so far.
Invidious was a solid five stars for me. Once again I couldn’t stop once I started and wow, I really didn’t see a lot of what happened in this one coming. I really don’t know how Jemma keeps going after everything she’s been through, and I just know things are going to keep coming. The one thing I love about Jemma is no matter what keeps coming her way, she’s shown more than once how strong she is and she keeps on pushing forward. I also love how she wasn’t instantly perfect. Jemma continues to grow with each book and I’m looking forward to seeing what will happen next!
I started this book yesterday and finished it today. Every moment left me wondering what would happen next, every chapter ending made me want to continue on to the next chapter. So many secrets and truths are told and the story continues to get better and better.Usually the second book is hard to get through and usually it's not as good as the first. Well, I do have to say it is just as good as the first, maybe even better. I am excited to continue on with the story especially since this book ended in a huge cliffhanger.The author does a very good job keeping me interested and making me think so much more about each character. I love her writing style because it keeps me interested and keeps me wanting more!
I'm so in love with this book! Jemma is by far my favorite character. I'm on edge right now because I really want to know who took her! So glad she kept Dominic in the story but would love for them to not be together. I'm too in love with Trace and her being together forever!
At the end, Jemma finally seemed to be coming into her own. It was as though a flip was switched and she grew a true backbone when it came to Nikki. I'm not fond of the fact that she still refuses to open up about things and get others to help her. She portrays this self-confidence, but doesn't truly have it when it counts. She puts herself into unnecessary situations, but shes a kid and most teenagers do. With that said, I enjoyed this just as much as the first. I'm excited to delve into the third installment.
Still in love with Trace and Jemma's story and struggle to be together. Fate has a funny way of working against you. The author is a bet repetitive when speaking and describing the fog. I really believe that every single chapter began with something about the fog. I can see where maybe the author is trying to drive the point home regarding the surroundings, but it does get a little annoying. However, it most certainly did not deter me from the story nor will I not finish the series. This storyline is very addictive. Must know what happens!
