I used this book to study for the Arrt breast ultrasound registry exam. It was an excellent way to prepare the the exam. A lot of the answers provided explanations and information that was very useful. I found that a lot of the questions in the book were relevant to the content of the exam. I also used X-Zone a few days prior to my test and found that some of the test questions were similar to those in the exam. I used a friends ultrasound physics review, which comes from the same company as this book, and found that it did help me brush up on the physics, but since it pertained to all types of ultrasound was more information than I needed for this test. I passed the test with a higher score than I had expected!
There are 289 questions in this review book, and with CME questions in the back. I like the physics part in the beginning; it refreshes my physics skills..esp after Aug 2013, ARDMS will increase physics to 9%. That equals about 15 questions about physics.I took the Breast registry with only 5 days total of study time. And Passed!! I used this review book and Eldeman ESP X-zone. X-zone comprises several modules: Instrumentation Anatomy & Physiology Tissue Characteristics Breast Disease Miscellaneous20 questions in each modules, however each time you re-open X-zone will have a tad different questions.Anyways, the content and focus of this review book and X-zone are different. Several questions are seen on the registry (from both this review book and X-zone) You will pass, just to acquire both materials (and have 100% knowledge of the two) , however...The registry is actually harder than these materials.1) It asks quite a few about BIRADS and how it corresponds to pathology.For instance, a benign lipoma is BIRADS 0? 1? 2? 3? So you need to memorize by heart.2) It asks quite a few questions related to mammogram. What are the benign calcification?3) Gynecomastia can be developed by what kind of disease?4) during lactation, how the glandular tissue would look like (echogenicity)5) how the glandular tissue would look like (echogenicity) during chemotherapy6) each lobe contains how many ducts and acini?Good luck!
Studied just this book and passed on the first try. Well-worth the money!
I used this review book along with 5 days of x-zone and passed the exam (12/15) with no problem. The questions were very similar to both sources. I also looked at my notes from class briefly but I think I would have been fine just using these two sources.
I passed it! It didn't have all of the info esp on elastography! Make sure to learn about it.
Helped me pass my breast registry!!
I used this book and I also used the Edelman X-Zone. I passed the breast boards with flying colors the first time. I think both sources provided different information that I needed. This books has a lot of questions to help you study. I thought it was very helpful.
